Stoke City appoint Paul Lambert as the new manager

Stoke City have appointed Paul Lambert as the new manager.

The 48 year old has signed a contract for two and half years following the sacking of Hughes this month.

Stoke City in the Premier League are in the 18th position and are a point away from being safe, and were knocked out of the FA Cup by League Two side.

Lambert will be watching Monday’s match from stands at Manchester United and will take charge from Tuesday.

His first match in charge will be Saturday’s home game against Huddersfield.
